Retrieving - Beginners Course (9.30 - 10.30)

This course has been cancelled, due to lack of interest, enabling a second inyermediate course to run. If you want advice regarding training your young dog, do email us and we will aim to help/put you in contact with someone who can assist you. If it turns out people contact us with the same problem, we may well hold a one-off surgery if this seems appropriate. Please also feel free to raise your area of concern on our Facebook Group page where others with experience of the situation can give you their thoughts.

Sunday 29th March 2020 - retrieving training for any variety gundog COURSE FULLY BOOKED

A couple of years ago, we organised a visit to Ellena Swift Nunneley of Swift Gundogs who has good training territory at Alkerton near Banbury. I am pleased she has agreed to hold a training event for us again.

This will be for max 8 dogs which have moved past 'beginner' with their training but is not limited to 'retriever' breeds. Dogs should be comfortable with 'shot' as Ellena is likely to use a starting pistol and/or dummy launcher.

Saturday 25th April 2020 - spaniels

We are repeating the session we had with Bob Aldenton of Roseycombe Gundogs (and an A Panel Field Trial Judge) during 2019 which went so well at one of his training grounds in the Long Itchington area.

This is geared for a max of 8 spaniels and a great opportunity to learn useful tips. Dogs should be comfortable with 'shot' as Bob is likely to use a starting pistol and/or dummy launcher.

Cost £20 a dog

Other training

We generally also run water training and cold game training (for dogs that will be used in a live quarry situation) at some stage during the year.
