Cherwell Gundog Club - LATEST NEWS
Hasn't time flown - we are already getting on towards halfway through this year's training courses and they have been running well. At the moment we do not foresee running another set of courses in 2017 so those of you looking at doing a training course will have to keep an eye out for the 2018 date release.
The Club's membership relaunch at £5pp has gone well, introducing a membership fee has made a massive difference to the Club being self sufficient. The ''old'' membership list is no longer used so to join the Club's newsletters and be able to attend Club events you must be a paid up ''new'' member. The forms are available to download on the website.
The Club ran it's first Intermediate/Advanced Retriever Training session with Ellena Swift and it was very popular and successful. Therefore we are pleased to confirm details of the next session which will be with B Panel Judge Dorothy Walls-Duffins at her training ground near Banbury on Saturday 27th May from 10am to 1pm. The charge will be £20 per dog and numbers are strictly limited. If you would like to attend please contact Will, email@example.com
Details of further training events for Retrievers/Spaniels will be released in due course.
The Club remain committed to running a Charity Working Test towards the end of the summer. Watch this space!
Happy New Year! After what has been a hectic festive period the Cherwell Gundog Club Committee are delighted to announce our plans for 2017!
We are all so pleased with how the club has grown over it's first two years. For 2017 there will be a annual membership charge of £5 per person. This is to help the club with it's running costs. To attend any of the club's training or the annual working test you must be a paid up member. The new membership form has been emailed to all original members and is available to download from the membership page on the website - after a couple of months we will stop using the old members list for the email distribution so all old members that haven't renewed will no longer be kept informed of the club's events.
The club will run training courses for Beginner & Intermediate dogs from April - June. These will take place bi-weekly on a Tuesday evening at Lower Souldern Grounds, OX25 6LS. For more information and to register please take a look at the ''TRAINING COURSES'' page on the website.
Over the course of the year the club will run ''Open'' training days, these will be at different locations and will deal with different types of terrain etc. These will generally be for dogs of different abilities depending on what is going to covered. All members will receive invitations to these days.
Towards the end of the summer we will run a Charity Working Test for members of the club. In 2016 we ran our first ever working test and it was a great success. For 2017 we plan to cater for all abilities and try to make the event bigger!
We are delighted to welcome back Will & Claire Organ who will be looking after the Retriever side of the training and Kevin John who will be in charge of Spaniels.
